Argo is a 2012 American political drama film directed and co-produced by Ben Affleck and produced by George Clooney, based on Tony Mendez's account of the rescue of six U.S. diplomats from Tehran, Iran during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. The film stars Affleck, Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin and John Goodman.
Filming began in August 2011, and it is scheduled to be released in October 2012. The film was given an R rating for language and some violent images.

Plot

As the Iranian revolution reaches a boiling point, a CIA 'exfiltration' specialist concocts a risky plan to free six Americans who have found shelter at the home of the Canadian ambassador.
